The first step in planning your home

Start the conversation with a list of your needs.

Write down how many people will live in the home and which rooms you need. Permanent living, occasional stays or use as a workspace can each call for a different layout.

Alongside the approximate total area, specify your expectations for the living room, kitchen, bedrooms and storage. Considering how spaces relate to each other is more informative than choosing by floor area alone.
